We’re raising funds to bring Oh, Crab!, a hilarious and educational children's picture book, to life! This brightly illustrated book follows the misadventures of an unlucky crab who just can’t seem to catch a break. Whether he’s getting kicked into the air, chased by sharks, or scuttling into trouble, this crab’s adventures are packed with fun facts that kids will love to learn. The funds will help us cover the costs of high-quality printing, illustration, and distribution to get this book into the hands of young readers everywhere.


Why We Care:
I’m passionate about creating stories that make kids laugh while also teaching them something new. Oh, Crab! does just that—mixing silly moments with fascinating crab facts that children can engage with and remember. As someone who loves the magic of reading aloud to my child, I want to create a book that brings families together for fun, educational, and unforgettable storytime experiences. Helping kids connect with nature, even in humorous ways, is so important to me, and crabs are the perfect quirky creatures to introduce them to the ocean’s wonders!


How We Plan to Make It Happen:
The book is already written, and the illustrations are completed. With the funds raised, we’ll be able to edit the final artwork, produce high-quality printed editions, and offer digital versions for all backers. I’m working with an experienced illustrator and book production team to ensure that every page is as vibrant and engaging as possible. If we surpass our goal, we have some exciting stretch goals lined up.


Who We Are:
My name is Kody Karnei, and I’m an author who’s passionate about creating fun, educational experiences for kids through storytelling. I’ve always believed that reading aloud is one of the best ways to create joyful, lasting memories for children, and with Oh, Crab!, I’m hoping to do just that. This project is a labor of love, and with your help, we can bring this unlucky (but lovable) crab’s story to families everywhere!

? Production Delays
Sometimes, things don't go quite as planned (just ask our unlucky crab!). There could be unexpected delays with printing or shipping. But don't worry—we'll keep you in the loop every step of the way so you're not left crabby or confused!

? Illustration Challenges
Creating vibrant, high-quality illustrations takes time, and while our illustrator is ready to snap to it, great art can’t be rushed! But we promise not to get shellfish—quality comes first, and we'll make sure the final product looks stunning.

? Shipping Pinch Points
Getting the physical books and rewards to you could be tricky, especially with potential international shipping claws...er, I mean, laws. We'll work hard to avoid any shipping snags that could pinch our plans.
